KENNESAW, Georgia (April 8, 2020) – Elevanta Health, a Georgia-based group health insurance program catering to franchisees, has announced steps to help its small-business partners struggling in the wake of the nationwide novel coronavirus crisis.

On March 27, the Elevanta, LLC Board of Directors announced two important relief measures for clients participating in the Elevanta Health proprietary group health insurance program. Health care premium payments that were scheduled to be paid by April 1 are being deferred to later this year, with half now being due on Aug. 14 and half being due on Oct. 15. The deferral is an extraordinary step and represents nearly $1.7 million in immediate cash savings to Elevanta Health clients.

Additionally, Elevanta Health is accelerating its payment schedule for participation refunds to clients who renew with the program. The Elevanta board authorized the payment of the refunds, representing nearly $300,000, in advance of their typical timeframe in conjunction with the April premium deferral.

“We all recognize the unprecedented challenges our Elevanta Health partners are facing in their businesses right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Elevanta CEO Christy Williams. “These steps are a way we can provide relief and stand in solidarity with them as they navigate the difficulties.”

The Elevanta Health program works with associations, businesses, franchisees and other organizations to provide affordable, customizable and compliant insurance solutions. Elevanta Health features nine major medical PPO plans, two Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) plans and three HDHP/HAS options that allow employers to customize programs with great coverage and affordability options through the Blue Cross Blue Shield network, one of the most inclusive in the marketplace.
